When trying to use Tensorflow in a remote setting using screen, I ran into the following error:
ImportError: libcublas.so.8.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I forget where I found the fix, but the issue had to do with how screen preserves the environment variables of the system (It doesn't). Here's the fix:
screen env LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH bash
This opens a new screen instance running bash with the appropriate shared libraries.
My hope is that creative and adventurous individuals will one day mine this archive and bring some of these ideas into a practical manifestation. For now, I work to share my thoughts to the world that my many anticipations might not go to waste in the absence of my recollection.
